Does the app need an internet connection?
No. Everything works offline — you can play in airplane mode.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device only. It is not uploaded anywhere.
Will I lose progress if I reinstall?
Yes. Uninstalling removes all local data, because nothing is stored on servers.
How do I move a piece?
Tap one of your pieces: it gets a frame and its legal moves appear as dots on the board. Tap a dot to make the move. The last move stays framed on both squares, and a pawn reaching the last rank opens a dialog to choose the promotion piece.
What is the difference between The Warden's levels 1 to 4?
Level 1 plays random legal moves and is ideal for learning. Level 2 looks two moves ahead and counts material. Level 3 searches deeper and understands piece placement. Level 4 thinks the longest and plays the most careful game. Pick the level and your side (White, Black or Random) on the setup screen before you start.
How do Undo, Hint and Offer draw work?
Against The Warden, Undo takes you back to your previous turn; in a friend game it takes back one move. Hint frames a recommended move on the board. Offer draw asks the other player in a friend game; The Warden accepts only after move 20 when the position is roughly equal, otherwise it declines.
Can I continue an unfinished game and review old ones?
Yes. An unfinished game is saved after every move, and Home shows a Continue card. Finished games go to Game history (up to 100), where you can tap any game to replay it move by move. Home also shows your wins, losses and draws against The Warden.
How do I reset my progress?
Open Settings (gear icon on Home), tap Reset all data, type RESET in capital letters and confirm. This deletes the saved game, game history, statistics and last setup from your device. It cannot be undone.
